Hofai Ministries was founded with a single mission: to bring the love of Jesus to life through action, not just words — serving the most vulnerable children and women.
What Hofai Means
Our name, Hofai, is a short form of "Hope and Faith" — the two unshakeable pillars that sustain every single thing we do. We believe that Hope without action is empty, and Faith without love is incomplete. So we act. We cross the water. We show up.
Based in Buikwe District, Uganda, Hofai Ministries serves children and women who have been overlooked by the world — but are deeply cherished by God. We are not a large organisation. We are a committed one. Every shilling, every volunteer hour, every meal served goes directly to the people who need it most.
We are a ministry on the move — not waiting for perfect conditions, but faithfully serving where we are, with what we have, trusting God for what we need.
Reaching the Isolated, Restoring the Forgotten
We reach communities that face extreme isolation — many with no latrines, no healthcare access, and homes that cannot survive heavy storms.
We reach children who have dropped out of school, women who are raising families entirely alone, and island communities that have never heard the Gospel. We don't just visit — we stay.
Uganda has the highest school dropout rate in East Africa at 59%. Three million children have lost one or both parents. Every one of them matters to God — and that is why Hofai shows up.
Our Three Pillars of Transformation
Everything Hofai does flows from three core programmes — each designed to address a different dimension of poverty and bring restoration to the whole person.
Nourish in Love
29% of Ugandan children under five are stunted due to malnutrition. We provide daily balanced meals so every Hofai child has the physical strength to grow, learn, and thrive. Because no child can dream on an empty stomach.

Educate in Love
Only 25 out of every 100 Ugandan children who start Primary One reach Primary Seven. We pay school fees, provide uniforms and books, and run the Hofai Soccer Academy and Hofai Dancers to nurture every God-given talent.

80% of Uganda's small-scale farming is done by women — yet most cannot own the land they farm. Our tailoring programme gives school dropouts and solo mothers professional skills, economic independence, and restored dignity.

Our Journey
How Hofai Has Grown
2017 — The Beginning
Hofai Ministries was founded in 2017, starting with just 5 orphaned children. With nothing but faith, love, and a deep calling, we began — and we have never stopped.
Growing — 80+ Children and Counting
From 5 orphaned children in 2017, we now support over 80 — including 25 fully supported orphans and at least 60 children sponsored for education. Each one is known by name. Each one has a future they did not have before.
Sew in Love — Women Empowered
Our tailoring programme has given solo mothers and school dropouts the skills to earn, to provide, and to look their children in the eye with confidence.
The Vision — 500 Children & a Permanent Home
We are praying and planning for a permanent Talent Centre and Vocational Hub — a fixed home where our children can train, our women can work, and our community can find sanctuary.

Our Future Vision
We are praying and planning to acquire permanent land for a Talent Centre and a Women's Vocational Hub — facilities that will host training, sports, arts and community programmes that multiply impact across the Lake Victoria region.
